Setelah selalu menggunakan CMS wordpress untuk menjalankan blog-blog saya, kini saya mencoba membuat blog dengan menggunakan blogger/blogspot. Saya hanya perlu membeli domain name which is domain bekas tapi ber PR (PageRank). Ada yang ber PR 1, PR 2, ada pula yang PR nya 3. Setelah itu di custom dan di-redirect ke blogspot, jadilah domain name dengan nama sendiri. Bagi para webmaster, mungkin cara ini kurang disukai karena Wordpress terbukti lebih ampuh dan fleksibel untuk di-oprek. Plugin2nya pun tersedia banyak. Namun blogspot juga bukan berarti kalah segala-galanya.

Blogspot mungkin cocok untuk mereka yang tidak terlalu harus mendetail dalam optimasi untuk tujuan mencari traffik organik dari search engine. Bagi saya yang kegiatan make money online-nya lewat PTR (Paid to review), asal blog itu sudah bernama sendiri dan statistik PR dan Alexa memadai, cukuplah siap2 tempur di medan review.

Saya memang sedang membangun lagi "kerajaan domain berPR" setelah periode April lalu. Saat itu, dengan beberapa domain PR4 dan PR 3, saya menikmati hasil memuaskan dari bisnis review. Setelah beberapa kali Google meng-update PR nya, maka sebagian besar blog saya sudah turun ke PR2 saja meski itu masih menghasilkan.

Keuntungan lain dari custom domain di Blogspot adalah kita tidak perlu memikirkan biaya hosting. Ada beberapa rekan yang terbukti bisa mendapatkan hasil maksimal meski hanya dengan CMS blogspot. Semoga usaha saya ini tidak sia-sia. Kalau pun sia-siap, maka saya tentu tidak memakai cara ini lagi.

Macules and Scars:

Another factor that needs to be evaluated is the human element of scarring. People simply have different feelings about acne scars. Those who are distressed about it more actively seek out treatment to remove the scar than those who are more indifferent about the scars.

Cause of Scars:
First we have determining the cause of scars. A scar is a mark left in the skin by the healing of a wound or surgical incision in which the normal functional tissue (skin) is replaced by connective tissue (scar). In the case of acne, the lesion is caused by the body’s inflammatory response to sebum, bacteria and dead cells that are trapped in the plugged sebaceous follicle.

When your skin tissue has suffered a lesion of some sorts, your body will attempt to heal the injured site. By increasing the white blood cells in the area along with an array of inflammatory molecules whose function is to repair the damaged tissue and fight infection. In the end, the repair job can be messy, and the site of the lesion is now filled with fibrous scar tissue or eroded tissue. As for the inflammatory molecules and white blood cells, they can remain at the acne lesion for days and even weeks.

Take note of the fact that not everyone functions in the same way, and this holds true with our skin as well. Some people are simply more prone to scarring than others.

Treatment for scars:
Remember that treating acne and treating acne scars are two completely different things. Treating your acne has nothing to do with treating an acne scar. Acne scars can indeed be treated, but it is important that an acne sufferer bring their acne condition under control first if they still suffer from moderate to severe acne.

Once your acne subsides, make an appointment with a dermatologist and discuss the methods (if applicable) of scar treatment(s) he/she recommend you undergo to treat your scars. There are many methods to treat your scars. These methods according to your scar type, size and location, type of skin, and of course, money. You should discuss the detail with your dermatologist.

Before doing scar treatment, ask yourself and before having your dermatologist undergoes the decided procedure(s): do the scars damage you emotionally, what treatment can you afford?
Remember, you don’t need scar treatment by completely restoring your skin. It very much depends on the severity of your scars, your skin type, your skins ability to regenerate, etc. Significant improvements can be achieved, but complete restoration is often impossible.

Dengan mencantumkan halaman-halaman yang ada di blog nya ke dalam halaman facebook, secara otomatis blog itu akan mendapatkan backlink, kata keramat yang sangat diburu keberadaanya oleh para webmaster.

Tak heran, di banyak webmaster forum2 luar negeri (dan mungkin dalam negeri), muncul banyak sekali dijual software2 facebook account mass creator untuk dapat menciptakan account facebook secara masal agar dapat menciptakan account facebook dalam jumlah banyak.

Layanan social network lain yang dijadikan sarana untuk "nyepam" lain antara lain adalah twitter, myspace, stumble upon dll.

Tidak disadari ternyata desain blog merupakan sebuah SEO juga. Berdasarkan pengalaman pribadi, kesalahan memilih template terutama untuk blog wordpress berakibat kurang mujurnya trafik. Yup, ini hanya pengalaman pribadi.

Sore tadi saya dan istri berkesempatan membeli seperangkat furniture. Keliling keliling akhirnya ketemulah satu set kursi model minimalis cute yang tampaknya cocok dengan desain rumah kami yang tidak terlalu besar. Apa ini? Konsepnya sebenarnya sederhana dan simple. Kita harus aktif di social bookmark. Namanya saja "social" bookmark, kita tentu saja harus bersosialisasi. Disana kita harus sering menengok teman kita, menyapa, berkomentar dan saling memberi saran dan kritik.

Ini sebenarnya agak "kejam" juga karena kalau kita alpa menengok kawan kita, maka kawan pun melupakan kita. Bandingkan dengan saran lain dari teman-teman blogger untuk blogwalking ke blog orang lain, nambah teman dan nambah trafik. Ini hampir sama dengan itu. Malah kalau kita bisa besar di dunia social bookmark, maka trafik yang bisa kita datangkan dari sana bisa beratus-ratus per satu judul posting. Dan itu sangat mungkin meski tanpa optimasi yang lain!

Yah, ketika semangat untuk bekerja dalam dunia blog sudah demikian panas dan "hot", kadang-kadang baik disadari atau tidak ternyata membawa banyak konsekuensi. Suatu saat apa yang kita lakukan ternyata dikategorikan sebagai sebuah kegiatan illegal dan karena itu blog kita harus di-sable, disuspend bahkan sampai di-ban. Iki memang resiko dan kadang resiko harus kita tanggung untuk kesalahan kita yang kita perbuat.

Apakah itu? (Konon) banyak teknik-teknik memanipulasi Search Engine agar ia bersahabat dengan kita. Sayangnya teknik-teknik itu kurang disukai oleh Search Engine karena ia bisa mengacaukan kerja mereka atau membuat situs web orang lain terkorbankan.

Apakah itu baik? Tentu tidak baik. Namun kadang tindakan itu "terpaksa" dilakukan karena -katakanlah- kita ingin "sedikit lebih cepat" dalam mencapai cita-cita utama yaitu trafik besar.

Apakah saya melakukan ini? sedikit-sedikit sih iya. Sepertinya ini aman-aman saja dan lolos dari barang bernama disabled, banned, suspended itu. Namun ternyata saya sempat kena batunya ketika menggunakan tool semacam mass submitter ke social bookmark. Padahal dengan cara itu, saya bisa menghemat banyak sekali waktu. Apakah jika tanpa tool itu, saya tidak bisa? tentu saja bisa. Namun ya itu tadi, saya harus mengalokasikan banyak waktu untuk submit manual.

Tapi account saya di layanan sejenis masih aman-aman saja kok. So? Iya, kita harus sadar akan tindakan itu. Ini kurang baik
dan ini bisa merusak nama baik blogger Indonesia di dunia blogosphere dunia.

Salah satu blog yang saya ingin bangun, tampaknya bikin uring-uringan terus. Sudah beberapa bulan, namun kadang-kadang beberapa hari bahkan tidak ada satu pengunjung pun!

Blog ini memang ber-niche khusus dan tidak banyak laku dipasar pengiklan. Saya hanya mencoba menuangkan sedikit ide di blog itu. Topik blog itu berkaitan dengan masa beberapa waktu lalu ketika -katakanlah- saya kerja dibidang itu untuk waktu yang lumayan panjang.

Ternyata trafik payah... Tidak banyak pengunjung yang melirik blog itu.

Emang sudah di-optimasi Om? hehehehe.... belumm eh udah ding, dikit.

Tapi blog yang lain dengan kadar optimasi yang sama, dapat trafik lumayan kok.

Google Trends does Matter

Pemanfaatan Google Trend untuk mencari ide topik tulisan ternyata boleh juga diterapkan. Biasanya sih saya masih perduli meski ga banyak. Namun ternyata kalau sedang pas kita bisa mendapatkan traffic gede dari teknik satu ini. Karena itu sekarang saya lebih serius memanfaatkan Google Trend untuk membantu saya memandu topik yang sebaiknya saya pilih.

Kemarin di satu blog saya sempat menulis satu posting tentang Working with Liam Byrne, itu pejabat pemerintah di British Raya sono. Dia membuat suatu aturan tentang bagaimana para PNS-nya Inggris yang bekerja dikantornya harus bersikap melayani dia: harus nyedian kue jam segini lah, bikinin kopi jam segini lah.. bla bla bla....

Ternyata saya dapat trafik dari Search Engine sebanyak 400-an untuk kata kunci working with liam byrne. Not Bad khan? Konon si Google Trend ini direkomendasikan oleh para master untuk dijadikan salah satu sumber inspirasi menulis.

Alexa, be Nice to Me Please...

Sudah menjadi resiko bahwa blog tanpa update tanpa waktu lama akan membuat ranking Alexa menjadi terjun bebas di angka juta-jutaan. Dan demikin juga blog ini. Namun semoga dengan sedikit perhatian dan rutinitas update menjadikan sang Alexa menjadi sayang kepada blog ini.

Saya tidak akan memanipulasi atau men-cheat teknik-teknik meningkatkan peringkat Alexa rank karena saya memang...... ehemmm.. tidak bisa wakakaka.... Nanti mungkin kalau sudah sanggup dan mampu (mungkin, mungkin lho ya..) saya akan kembali mengotak-atik pemeringkatan Alexa.

Namun cara-cara normal nampaknya masih tetaplah ampuh mendongkrak peringkat Alexa ini (I reckon). Ini berdasarkan beberapa blog yang saya punya. Bahkan sudah ada yang tembus dibawah 300-an ribu (yah,,, segitu gampang mass!) Buat saya itu sudah pencapain luar biasa karena (again) saya tidak banyak memberi perhatian serius sebelumnya. Terus juga saya termasuk orang yang sangat lamban dalam updating dan SEO blog. Maklum juga, saya nyari-nyari master kok pada menthok.

Namun saya maklum karena pekerjaan online marketing itu luar biasa menyita waktu, tenaga dan mungkin juga air mata (weee....)

Understanding Potato ricer

Apapula itu potato ricer? Ini adalah pemotong kentang yang menjadikan ukuran kentang seukuran beras. Mashed potatoes ini biasanya menggunakan bahan dasar potato ricer. Jadi sudah jelaskah? yup, hanya seperti itu.

Kenapa saya tiba-tiba ngomong potato? Karena saya sedang kangen dengan chips yang rasanya (sayangnya) tidak bisa saya dapatkan di Surabaya. Nun jauh disana saya biasanya suka sekali dengan potato chips yang kadang-kadang dipaket dengan nama meal: Fish and Chip. hmmm... enakk...

Officially, hari ini belum weekend sih. Masih ada beberapa jam lagi, Namun setidaknya Jumat siang menjelang sore boleh lah dianggap sebagai permulaan weekend. Selamat beraktifitas dengan ceria dan melupakan rutinitas mingguan.

Ada yang spesial hari ini? hmmm.. personally, saya biasa-biasanya aja karena kebetulan saya tidak ngantor dan tidak punya kantor. Blogger ajah..... eheheheh

Melewati akhir minggu bersama keluarga dengan makan di luar? itu ide bagus dan sangat recommended. Sekalian wisata kuliner sambil mencoba aneka resto, warung makan yang kebetulan belum pernah dicoba.

Atau gardening saja. Tidak masalah meski ukuran rumah kita kecil. Kita bisa mendesain ulang posisi bunga-bunga, memotong dahan dan ranting yang tidak beraturan atau memberi pupuk agar sang flower bisa lebih indah tumbuhnya.

Mungkin juga hanya ingin stay di rumah? Itu juga tidak salah. Menikmati sore sambil bercengkerama bersama keluarga. Semacam coffee break dari Minggu-minggu yang mungkin sangat melelahkan dan menguras pikiran dan tenaga.

Apapun tentu itu baik asal memang ditujukan untuk menjaga kebugaran dan refreshing. Masih banyak ide untuk mengisi akhir minggu yang menyenangkan misalnya cleaning home, powder and paint rumah kita, mengotak atik lagi kendaraan kita (car maintenance), sesekali pergi gym dan fitness atau mencoba recep aneka bread and cake.

Benar juga kata orang-orang, sering-seringlah update. Karena beberapa bulan tidak terurus, Alexa blog ini menyentuh angka 4 jutaan. PR pun sudah turun satu strip. Penginnya sih ber-SEO ria agar cepat kembali normal dan berkembang lebih optimal, tapi biar saja dululah. yang penting ada isi posting baru. Feeling saya sih, sekecil apapun penambahan content, itu sudah merupakan sebuah implementasi SEO.

Hmm... kawan-kawan yang dulu sempat intens bertukar kabar dengan blog ini, apa khabar ya? saya belum unjung-unjung lagi dengan mereka tapi don`t worry guys, nama kalian semua sudah masuk dalam bloglines saya kok (yang kebetulan juga tidak saya akrabi akhir-akhir ini)

Sang mama juga tidak rewel, jarang muntah-muntah, doyan makan, makin ndut (sedikit...) tapi.... kok jarang dan malas berdandan ya? apakah ini pertanda bahwa (menurut mintos) sang bayi berjenis kelamin cewek?

Ketagangan dengan GOOGLE

Bukan, ini bukan ketegangan saya dengan GOOGLE. Tepatnya ini adalah ketegangan diri saya terhadap google. Adalah google adsense yang mendisable content iklan mereka di blog2 saya. Mereka bilang bahwa saya tidak/belum mengisi PIN. Yang terjadi adalah saya menyadari bahwa PIN saya belum terkirim sehingga jadilah saya request ulang untuk re-issue PIN yang kedua.

Policy mereka -kira-kira- mengatakan selama saya menunggu, saya masih bisa memajang iklan-iklan itu dalam blog saya. Namun saya memdapati bahwa iklan google sudah PSA yang berarti saya tidak bisa menyajikan iklan untuk -nantinya jika pengunjung tertarik- mendapat klik berujung duit. Dua mingguan selama menunggu menjadi 2 minggu yang sia-sia padahal earning harian sekarang sudah stabil. 2 minggu tanpa iklan berarti menghambat perolehan total saya yang sudah bisa dirupakan dalam bentuk cek

Blog ini tidak lagi menarik bagi pemiliknya. Namun ternyata sang pemilik teramat sayang untuk terus menerus melewatkan blog ini tanpa tersentuh dan ter-update tiap hari. PR pun turun menjadi PR2 dari PR 3 sebelumnya. Sebagai bentuk terima kasih atas masa lalu perintisan belajar blog disini, maka alangkah bijaksananya jika sang pemilik mengurus lagi keberlangsungan blog ini.

Blog ini awalnya hanyalah personal blog tanpa aturan baku. Menulis apa saja dan kapan saja. Namun kemudian berkembangan menjadi blog dengan tema utama seputar kepustakawanan. Rupanya, lama kelamaan blog ini tidak terurus hingga akhirnya kembali lagi blog ini update.

Prof. William Brace Died

Prof. William Brace, Professor of library and information science has died in 1 October 2008. The professor from Dominican University had heart attack. He has well known in Library and informations science field for about 4 decades. LIS will miss this professor. He has good sense of humor. He well connected with his student and his wife also woman who has same subject with him, Library and Information Science.

Prof. William Brace will always be missed. He was witty and well-versed in lots of subjects, and he was a real thorn in my side. He was the professor who taught people government documents - gave them a blank piece of paper and told them to write down the four verses of the national anthem.

Toward biggest library ever

It has been more than three years since Google and several big library in the world to digitized their collection. Its include some of rarest treasures. At the moment, the bodley library becomes the biggest library ever built. By next year, the Bodleian will have put half a million books online. According to one estimate. The Bodleian Library is the main research library of the University of Oxford.

Next time, internet library will contain the entire written culture, millions of articles, half a million films, and billions of web pages. What a massive number and what a huge collection.

Yet copyright matter is becoming another issues follow this project.

After beeing approved by The House of Representatives, Library Watch is on of some important thing of Law on Library that we should complete in next session. Many suggestion about how and what "library watch" is should be. They have to make balance in implementation this law.

How they will work and how it can be effective, it`s all depend on overall system that around them. Library watch is civil-based organisation which is connecting with the government as library law authority. As civil organisation, sometimes facing many challenge. Because it is the first time we make, many expectation are come. But with high spirit and passionate of the succesful of the library law, it`s no doubt that they will done their job well.

Advertise Inside the Books, innovations or what?

BBC News said that they will inserts adverts to aims their project to cover the UK by the middle of 2008 with around 3m inserts. I don`t know this is such a creative idea or something hidden mission.

With this kind of adverts, one thing for sure is junk mail and waste product (event they are recyclable). Also, how the stuff be so busy to put in and put off this inserts.

Let`s say it works. How about content the adverts with the content of the books? Are they are similar or contra-productive. How the adverts`s mission can be completed if the message they want to send is not matching with the content of the book?

PictureAustralia, the online pictorial collections of a whole range of cultural agencies, held by National Library of Australia. The aim of this service is to provide images and photos thought Flickr. This mean they doesn`t have copyright for the photograph. For reproduce and copyright matter, we should contact the owner of the photos by log on to the Flickr and then send them email.

They claim they provide all image about Australiana:

Artworks include paintings, drawings, prints and posters of abstract art, fine art and portraits
Photographs capture people, places and events
Objects include sculpture, scrimshaw, bark, costume, weapons

Situs DPR pada tanggal 25 Januari 2007 memberitakan bahwa Seluruh fraksi DPR menyetujui Rancangan Undang-undang (RUU) Usul inisiatif Komisi X DPR tentang Perpustakaan untuk disahkan menjadi RUU DPR RI. Meski masih juga berupa Rancangan, setidaknya itu sudah menjadi kesepakatan semuga fraksi di DPR.

Inilah pandangan (meski sangat umum sifatnya) dari masing-masing fraksi:

F-PAN berpendapat institusi publik seperti perpustakaan, arsip, museum, koleksi budaya, dan fasilitas lainnya yang akan diatur dalam RUU ini hendaknya dikuatkan untuk mendorong masyarakat dalam rangka mengembangkan potensi sumber daya manusia dan sumber daya alam.
Menurut F-PDIP, urgensi pembuatan UU Perpustakaan harus ditempatkan dalam konteks mencerdaskan kehidupan bangsa dengan menumbuhkembangkan budaya membaca sebagai salah satu strategi kebudayaan nasional.FPDIP berpendapat RUU Perpustakaan ini perlu disederhanakan menjadi RUU Perpustakaan Nasional yang berkaitan dengan fungsi sebuah perpustakaan nasional. Dengan demikian bagian yang bukan ranah sebuah perpustakaan nasional seperti profesi, pengembangan , minat baca, kode etik, perpustakaan jenis lain seperti pepustakaan khusus, perguruan tinggi dan sekolah tidak perlu dimasukan dalam UU ini. FPDIP juga mengusulkan Perpustakaan Nasioanal dapat menyatu dengan fungsi lembaga negara seperti DPR, dan DPD agar membantu anggota Dewan mendapatkan informasi demi peningkatan kualitas kinerja sebagai pertanggunjawaban kepada konstituennya.
F-PG berpendapat RUU ini merupakan babakan baru perpustakaan nasional. Paradigma perpustakaan sebagai sarana pembelajaran dan pelestarian budaya bangsa perlu dijamin penyelenggaraan dan pengembangannya agar perpustakaan dapat menjalankan fungsi dan peran strategis tersebut.

As we knew, Flickr is Image (photo) sharing sites with more than 70 million images from contributors around the world. People try to list what the advantage and disadvantage in Library operational with Flickr. Below is presentation showing a few ways we are using Flickr:

Basicly, some librarian use Flickr to:

answering reference questions
putting screenshots in blog entries and tutorials
communicating about needed book repairs & facilities issues
documenting dialogue and concepts at staff meetings
partnering on creating an image collection with a local museum
quickly sharing page images from fragile items with researcher

Some other consider using flickr to "curate" (select and capture) images, for digital library collections or for preservation; using flickr as a collaboration and access tool for images.

Before we go more further about Flickr, we should understand about Flickr policy, copyright. According Flickr guidelines page:
Don't use Flickr for commercial purposes: Flickr is for personaluse only. If we find you selling products, services, or yourself through your photo stream, we will terminate your account. Any other commercial use of Flickr, Flickr technologies (including APIs, FlickrMail, etc), orFlickr accounts must be approved by Flickr. Some people said that we can do it "informally" even it`s for library purpose, that mean not for commercial use. Informally mean that use of Flickr is just for back up or immediate purpose, as long as we always link back.

The Hollywood Librarian

Attendees of the American Library Association (ALA) 2007 Annual Conference June 21-27 in Washington, D.C. are invited to the premiere of "The Hollywood Librarian: A Look at Librarians through Film", the work and lives of librarians.

Written and directed by Ann Seidl, Holder of MLIS from the University of Denver and is owner and principal of Information, Managed, a library consulting business that provides library research and geographic information systems analysis products to public libraries and systems.

This film gave us some information about librarianship, especially librarians` life. People think they are pretty knew how librarian is. The fact is they have negative image of librarians. This film “will increase the public's awareness of the complex and democratic nature of librarianship in the age of technology, and be a step toward librarians redefining themselves as not only more than a stereotype, but also as a cultural imperative.”

This Film is produced by Overdue Productions in association with Bi-Folkal Productions, a non-profit organization with 30 years of service to libraries.

The Ultimate Debate: Do Libraries Innovate

The Library and Information Technology Association (LITA) Internet Resources and Services Interest Group (IRSIG) is hosting a second “Ultimate Debate” session at the ALA Annual Conference in Washington D.C. It held in Saturday, June 23, 2007.

They describe this debate as:” Libraries did not invent Google Book Search, LibraryThing, Facebook, or any other innovation critical to the new information era and knowledge economy. We make use of these inventions, but is that enough? What prevents us from being more creative?”.

Here are the problems:

Question 1:
Is there any evidence that libraries are innovative institutions?
Question 2 (reserve):
What is your definition of an innovative library and what would be some of its qualities?
Question 3:
What prevents libraries from innovating?
Question 4:
Can libraries become more innovative, and if so, how?
Question 5:
What will happen if libraries do not become more innovative?
Question 6:
Even if libraries become more innovative, can they hope to compete with the private sector for their user’s attention?
Question 7:
What is your vision for the future of library innovation, and what is your level of confidence in achieving it?

The entire question above is common problem faced by librarianship across the world. Google Book Search, LibraryThing, Facebook, are tool that libraries and librarians use for operational tool in library. That invention is developed outside the library world. Debate agreed that there should be more R&D in libraries.

It said, throughout the debate, panelist, Karen, said that the problem is that libraries don’t have the resources to be able to support failure, and if you can’t accept the possibility of failure you can’t innovate: innovation is risky and uncertain. For Stephen, the problem is within the culture of librarianship, which he says is a culture of victimization. Librarians share disaster stories and commiserate over low salaries and other challenges, and then they come to believe that these disaster stories are the reality of all of librarianship and don’t even try to change it.

For me, the keyword in this situation is creativity and open-minded. We should always put user-oriented in the top of our goal. This can be affect us to be more innovative and "Innovative". "Innovative" means we might use any other tools including great invention that found outside the library world.

Up Close with READ! Singapore

Singapore National Library Board (NLB) launches READ! Singapore. Its first ever nation-wide reading initiative, READ! Singapore 05 was held on 24 May 2005. They explain that this program was adapted from other reading programmes around the world. This program is running over 10-week period since 24 May to 6 August. The aims of the READ! Singapore initiative is “to promote a culture of reading among Singaporeans as it aims to provide Singaporeans with an opportunity to rediscover the joys of reading, by creating a common topic of discussion and conversation amongst people”.

This program also aims to develop Singaporeans’ to think critically, creative, expressions and imaginative through the varied activities such as story dramatization and book discussions.

This year theme is “Ties that Binds” to cultivate community bonding as Singapore is a multi-racial country. Program is running by facilitated discussions on the selected story mainly in fiction. There are eight books and four short stories from 4 official languages that selected.

Big Brother

Big Brother Australia entering day 59, and i have become one of big brother biggest fan for almost 2 months. me and my lovely beautiful wife are enjoying this reality show as one of free entertainment program. A group of people is bonding in one big nice house, they live with strict rules that apply reward and punishment system, big brother provides their daily needs such as foods and there are monitored 7/24. they live like a normal community that involves conflicts, intrigues, friendships, and bitching to each other.

my question, why there are no books and reading activity in their daily life since the other equipments such as fitness and gym facilities, swimming pool, sauna and spa for their physical development is quite complete? i think reading and books concept in the house is very interesting, furthermore the existence of small library in the corner of the house will make the house looks smart. the house mates can spend their time by reading the book and bonding in the library, what's a smart idea.

Studi Banding ke Moskow

Khabarnya, untuk kebutuhan RUU Perpustakaan, anggota DPR RI melakukan studi banding sampai ke Moskow. Luas biasa sekali mereka. Untuk kebutuhan yang bagaimana mereka harus ke luar negeri, dan mengapa harus Moskow?

Ada banyak pilihan untuk menghasilkan sebuah produk hukum yang baik dan berkualitas. Duduk manis semeja sambil mendengar masukan dari semua komponen masyarakat kepustakawanan rasanya belum maksimal dilakukan.

Moskow sebagai tujuan studi banding? Ada banyak tempat lain yang lebih ideal dan cocok sebagai rujukan tentang produk UU Kepustakawanan, sayangnya, tempat itu sebaiknya tidak Moskow. Mereka bisa ke Amerika Serikat yang menjadikan perpustakaan-perpustakannya layak, pantas dan pada posisi terohmat dalam peran hubungan tata kemasyarakatan, mendukung demokrasi dsb. Juga Inggris, Finlandia, Australia serta berbagai tempat lainnya

Tenaga Perpustakaan Sekolah

Khabarnya, Badan Standarisasi Nasional Perpustakaan (BSNP) melalui Kelompok Tenaga Perpustakaan Sekolah sedang membahas mengenai kompetensi dan kualifikasi tenaga perpustakaan sekolah. Dalam gagasannya, kelak tenaga perpustakaan SD akan diisi oleh D2 Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi, SMP oleh D3 sedangkan SMA dan sekolah setara diisi oleh D4 atau Sarjana Ilmu Perpustakaan. Guru dimungkinkan memegang perpustakaan sekolah dengan syarat harus memiliki Akta Perpustakaan Sekolah.

Akta perpustakaan Sekolah, seberapa qualified?. Artinya, guru SMA bisa memegang perpustakaan sekolah itu, yang sesuai dengan logika berpikir, akan setara dengan tenaga perpustakaannya (D4-S1)? Jadi, lulusan D2 tidaak bisa memegang perpustakaan SMA dong? Guru SMA itu lebih "bisa dan tahu" soal perpustkaan dari pada Alumni D2 atau D3 bidang perpustakaan? ah, kata saya mah, b**s**t.

Kritik Wapres terhadap Perpustakaan

Ketika meresmikan beroperasinya Layanan Terbuka Perpusnas dan Perpustakaan Elektronik Keliling (Pusteling), Rabu (30/5), di Gedung Perpusnas Jakarta, Wapres Jusuf Kalla mengkritik wajah perpustakaan Indonesia.

Menurut JK, perpustakaan-perpustakaan di Indonesia dinilai tidak memberikan layanan yang menarik sehingga jarang dikunjungi pembaca. Akibatnya budaya baca kurang berkembang. Layanan yang kurang menarik itu antara lain perpustakaan yang justru libur pada hari Sabtu
dan Minggu. Sedangkan hari libur adalah waktu luang bagi masyarakat untuk bisa mendatangi perpustakaan. Waktu beroperasi kebanyakan perpustakaan juga dikritik oleh wapres mulai pagi sampai sore yang layaknya kantor camat. [nah, kantor camat!]

JK tidak lupa menyorot perpustakaan yang jarang menggelar promosi sehingga keberadaannya tidak diketahui masyarakat, meski letaknya strategis. Bahkan diapun tidak tahu Perpustakaan Nasional padahal letaknya dekat dengan kantor Wapres yang sama-sama di Jl Merdeka Selatan. [Gimana Perpusnas?]

Lambatnya perkembangan toko buku dibanding toko lain misalnya penjual televisi juga menjadi keprihatinan Wapres. Yang ini disinyalir karena banyak penerbit yang menjual buku langsung ke sekolah-sekolah sehingga toko buku susah hidup. Masyarakat akhirnya sulit menemukan keberadaan toko buku terutama di daerah-daerah. "Banyak ibukota provinsi tidak ada toko buku," Ujar Kalla. [nah lho...]
